Digital health startup healthi raises $3.1 million from Montane Ventures

Digital health startup healthi has raised funding of US $3.1 million led by Montane Ventures, a VC firm anchored by the Piramal Family Office. Montane Ventures is an early stage venture capital fund investing in core technology start-ups.

These funds will be used to accelerate product development efforts and growing the product and technology teams, the company said. The investment will also be used to scale up the go-to-market efforts for the first application—driving engaging health benefits programs for corporate employees and family members.

Healthi aims to roll out international pilots for its analytics and engagement platform in the next 12 to 18 months. It focuses on preventative healthcare, providing a set of tools to its users to make healthy choices.

Competition

Healthcare and wellness startup myUpchar raised seed funding of Rs 2 crore in September 2017 from a consortium of angel investors including Mohit Saytanand, Rajan Anandan and Alok Mittal, and others. myUpchar provides healthcare and wellness content in Hindi, and will also make content available in other languages such as Marathi and Malayalam.

In June, mobile health tech company Grow Fit raised $4.5 million in Series A funding led by MEMG (Manipal Education and Medical Group), the PE arm of the Manipal Group, with participation from existing investors The SAR Group and The Grover Trust.

In February last year, Bangalore-based health technology startup SigTuple raised $5.8 million in a Series A round of funding led by Accel Partners and participation from IDG Ventures, Endiya Partners, pi Ventures, VH Capital and Axilor Partners and other individual investors like Sachin Bansal, Binny Bansal and Amit Singhal.
